Forum FS/FT Thread Notifier

I haven’t mentioned it in over a year, but I’m really using my Forum For Sale/For Trade Thread notifier a lot. I subscribe to the RSS feed that it generates, which aggregates new threads from multiple tech trading forums. I check it with Google Reader a few times a day, and frequently find great deals on used electronics.

Currently it supports [H]ard|Forum’s For Sale / Trade, ArsTechnica’s Agora Classifieds (new!), and AnandTech’s FS/FT Forum (recently fixed). These are the only three forums I’ve used, but perhaps later to include some of the other popular online sale forums…

It’s not perfect, nor complete, but it’s at least fully functional and usable. If you use it, please provide some feedback and let me know what you think.

When finding wheels for my car I used CrazedList.org which allows you to search craiglist by multiple states, regions (west coast, northwest, etc) and then setup a RSS for it in google reader. Worked pretty well.

That’s pretty cool, but not as cool as it could be. Mine aggregates, and grabs the data. That is simply a wrapper with iframes. For instance, it would be cool if it could combine all of the RSS results and provide them to you, like mine does 🙂

Their simple iframe thing is pretty lame, but I use the GET rss feeds which will create a RSS feed of your search across your region/cities/states to plug into google reader so you don’t have to deal with the ugly iframes.

Using all items in google reader it combines all of the RSS results or i can narrow it down by location if i want to *shrug*

Ah, if you use “All Items”, right. HAX!
