Introduction, Statement of Purpose

Clod (n)

  1. a lump of something, especially of earth or clay
  2. a stupid person; a dolt

Ray Dehler here.  I am not new to blogging, the cloud or Salesforce.   The internet — and especially the world of Salesforce developers and consultants — is full of brilliant and talented individuals.  I have a lot to learn, of that I’m sure.  Let this blog serve to be a log of my journey through the skies.

Historically I have had some success with the following format.  If I am working on solving a problem, be it trivial or difficult, I will scour documentation and then the web for answers.  If answers are not to be found, or are particularly difficult to be found, they should not be, and so it will be my goal to make such a solution more available to the next clod behind me.  If I make a post that helps just one person, the goal of that post will have been met.

I don’t expect to make posts often.  I don’t expect that I will post just because it has been awhile since my last.  I don’t expect anyone to subscribe to this blog.  I don’t expect to make any money or gain any significant professional contacts as a result of this blog.

I do expect posts from this blog to show up on the first page of search results for somewhat uncommon issues.  I do expect that I will learn more about these issues in detailing them here than I would have otherwise.  I do expect to cite any references I use, or to be called out mercilessly by readers.
